TOUR OF BRITAIN COMES TO OTTERY

The eyes of the world will be on Ottery St Mary in September, when the OVO Energy Tour of Britain returns to Ottery St Mary.

Stage Two of the race, running between Cranbrook and Barnstaple on Monday 3 September, once again the race will pass directly in front of the Hall & Scott Ottery Office once again as well a featuring the ‘King of the Mountains’ climb at Chineway Hill, which also featured during the race’s last Devon stage in 2016.

To coincide with the Tour’s visit, September is now Cyclists’ Month in the town, as local residents show off Ottery St Mary to the wider world.

Ahead of the race’s visit on the morning of 3 September, local residents and guests are being invited to take part in the Big Cycling Breakfast (utilising the town’s many cafés and restaurants) before tackling Chineway Hill en masse.

Businesses will be showing their support for the race by decorating shopfronts – some in the colours of their favourite of the 2o teams competing in Britain’s biggest annual sporting event, others to reflect the nature of their business – in the aim of being the most creative in the town.
