Paul Scott

Paul has worked in estate agency for 34 years, having studied Building and Civil Engineering at Exeter College. He began his career with an independent firm in Exeter, then progressed to managing two offices for Blackhorse Agencies in Torbay before returning to Exeter. Paul later took over what was Redferns Estate Agents and, in 2011, merged it with Halls to create Hall & Scott.

Based in the Exmouth office, Paul says:
“I am very proud of the business and believe we offer an exceptional service covering the whole of Exeter, its surrounding villages, and East Devon. We are one of the most experienced teams in the area, which in today’s market is of the utmost importance.”

Paul is a member of the Exeter and Exmouth Estate Agents Association and serves as a chairman of The Lord’s Taverners, a disability sports charity.

Outside of work, Paul is a keen Padel player, hitting the courts at least twice a week. He’s also a dog lover and enjoys walking his two Labradoodles whenever he gets the chance.

Jennie Scott

Jennie brings a wealth of estate agency experience to the Hall & Scott team. She began her property career in 2000 with an independent firm in Exeter, where she worked for over 10 years before taking a break to raise her two children.

Jennie later returned to the industry to join Hall & Scott, working alongside her husband, Paul Scott. Having always lived locally in Exeter and Exmouth, Jennie has an excellent understanding of the communities and areas we cover, giving her valuable local insight when helping clients.

Although part-time, Jennie is often busy working behind the scenes on our social media and marketing, where her eye for detail and creative flair really shine through.

Outside of work, Jennie enjoys walking her dogs, Peloton training, skiing in the winter and paddleboarding in the summer!

Jenny Walker

Jenny brings over 20 years of expertise within the estate agency sector, having commenced her career in Exmouth. Her extensive experience is complemented by a successful track record in management roles across a range of industries and locations throughout the country. This breadth of knowledge enables her to deliver a strategic, client-focused approach to all aspects of the business. Jenny possesses an in-depth understanding of the local property market and is ideally placed to provide professional guidance on the sale and acquisition of all property types.

Symon Garratt

An estate agent for 40 years, Symon has a wealth of experience in the property industry, having worked for most of his career in the Exeter & East Devon area. Joining Hall & Scott as a self-employed Property Consultant in 2024 he works from our Exmouth office on the marina. He was previously a Director and Associate Partner for two other high profile local independent estate agents working mainly between Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Symon is also a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor providing Energy Performance Certificates. A past Devon Chairman and fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents, he was awarded the Certificate of Practice in Estate Agency in 2002.

Symon was born in Exmouth where he still lives. His main interests outside of work include sailing and rugby. He is a past Commodore and current Trustee of the Exe Sailing Club and a season ticket holder at Exeter Chiefs.

Lisa Wartnaby

Lisa joined the team in October 2021 and comes from a very highly experienced sales and administration background. Born and bred in Exmouth, she has sound knowledge of the area, surrounding towns and villages and very much enjoys meeting clients on a face to face basis. In her spare time, she makes the most of living near the sea and loves going out on her boat and swimming. She also enjoys the countryside for cycling and walking.

Jan Baker

Born and brought up in Exmouth, Jan knows the town and surrounding area like the back of her hand. After spending a few years living in Exeter, she returned to her hometown where she feels most at home by the coast.

With a long and successful career in sales and customer service, Jan joined the team part-time in March 2020 and has been a friendly, familiar face ever since. She’s passionate about meeting clients face to face and helping them on their property journey.

Well-travelled and full of stories from her adventures, Jan brings warmth and enthusiasm to everything she does. She’s most often found in the office on a Saturday, ready to welcome clients with a smile.

In her spare time, Jan enjoys swimming, going to the gym, walking, and planning her next travel destination.
